Anyone seen those Pillsbury biscuit or croissant commercials? Man, those commercials had me sold one night. I went to the grocery store and bought the little packs of 5 so that I wouldn’t be tempted to eat a whole roll of 10. I am all about eating clean and staying away from pre-package foods, but my weakness is bread. I read in the ingredients that both the croissants and biscuits contain hydrogenated oils. This was stated in bold letters. It was as if God was trying to say, “Don’t eat it!”
Being the simple human being that I am, I bought them, baked them, and ate every crumb. They were absolutely delicious. Wow, the power of a TV commercial. So, what I’ve decided to do is stop watching commercials. Commercials are my queue to send out a text, pick out my clothes for tomorrow, do a cold cream mask, file my nails, something! Don’t even listen to them, mute them. The sound sends subliminal messages to my brain that says, you want something you know you shouldn’t have.
My advice: don’t be fooled by the power of marketing. If you are having cravings you probably saw, or heard an advertisement for it. Stay strong, but if you fall into temptation, share the temptation with others. Whew…at least I got that out of my system. Now, back to clean eats and treats!
