The Beauty of Nutrition

“Behold, you are beautiful, my love, behold, you are beautiful! Your eyes are doves behind your veil. Your hair is like a flock of goats leaping down the slopes of Gilead. Your teeth are like a flock of shorn ewes that have come up from the washing, all of which bear twins, and not one among them has lost its young. Your lips are like a scarlet thread, and your mouth is lovely. Your cheeks are like halves of a pomegranate behind your veil. Your neck is like the tower of David, built in rows of stone; on it hang a thousand shields, all of them shields of warriors. Your two breasts are like two fawns, twins of gazelle that graze among the lilies…” – Song of Solomon 4:1-16

I am sure you have heard the saying “You are what you eat!”  Everyone has heard that beauty comes from within; that beauty is confidence, poise, and a great attitude. Beauty is all of that, yes. However, I must expose an ugly reality about beauty. Before people see your true beauty they will see your overall appearance. They see your face, your shape, your clothes, your hair, followed by how you smell, followed by your name, personality, and then attitude. Nutrition can paint a whole picture for you with one brush stroke. What you eat can bring out that inner beauty that God has blessed you with. A daily consumption of nutritious food can improve your skin, hair, nails, shape, and mood. Nutrition can even improve your body’s natural musk during the hot summer months. Now, I’m not saying to stop wearing deodorant! Don’t throw away your Mac cosmetics, and Urban Decay palettes. But make sure before you start painting, you have a smooth canvas to start with.

I urge you to use nutrition to beautify yourself from the inside out. Feel free to comment and leave your own beauty advice. I can always use the feedback and tips!
